For the first half of April, my friends and I boosted the economy of a foreign country.
Shinjuku was our major travel hub, where we transferred to major trains (e.g. Hakone and Narita International Airport).
Our only stint outside Tokyo was to head to Hakone, a mountainous region known for their onsens and shrines.
After a night at a ryokan, we headed to Owakudani and Hakone Shrine to try some black eggs (for 7 extra years of life) and take photos of iconic scenes.
TeamLab is an interactive museum—a collection of digital installations. But before that, we saw the giant Gundam at Diver City Mall in Odaiba.
Ikebukuro was our "home base" and we lovingly explored SEIBU (a nearby department store).
We started the day with kaisendon and then some relaxation on the rooftop terrace, before heading to Shibuya and Harajuku.
While a last hurrah before our long plane ride back, we found ourselves wishing we came to Shinjuku Gyoen earlier in our trip.
Next time we come to Japan, we'll join the many others having picnics in the park.
